I have been watching the stock market and I still am amazed at the lack of control on day trading. Why?

Let’s first look at the purpose for the Stock Market. It is a mechanism for average people to invest in the economy and the companies in this country that make it up. These are the long term investors that look at dividends, and long term growth. They have an interest in the long term health of the companies they invest in.

Day traders have a different look at the market. They do not want stability, in fact they make the most during times of turmoil and will encourage that volatility. This is the equivalent to having a bank with a floating crap game in the lobby. What can we do? I suggest that any share bought in one session of the market will pay a $.50/share fee for sale during that same session. This will slow down these hour traders, forcing a much larger move to make their flips profitable. It will also raise a lot of revenue for the government while having a shock absorber effect on stock prices.

Simple, and on message for the market, that stock ownership is not a poker hand for the next 10 minutes.
