Well it has been 2 years since I have been able to get a full time assignment. With 31 years of experience you would think it should be easy for me to find work. However, at every turn for the last 2 years I have been shut out by low cost H1B workers. Now you say, 'Isn't it illegal for H1B to apply for jobs in this country without a visa with the company they are applying to?' Yes it is, and no one that can do anything about is seems to give a damn.
I have been telling people of this and no one believed me. It has become so blatent that these illegal workers are being shopped totally out in the open (Kind of like setting up a crack stand in front of a drug rehab center). This morning I got a letter (spam really) advising me that this company has 31 UNEMPLOYED H1B workers they are trying to get jobs for. That is 31 US workers that will not get jobs, not be able to help the economy recover, not pay their taxes, not have a life they should have been able to live. All because our public officials would rather save the companies a few bucks and do not give a DAMN about US workers. This is one of THOUSANDS of these shops with stables of illegal workers keeping US IT workers unemployed. And still congress calls for more H1B in the comming year. I feel like my representatives in congress are giving US IT workers a one finger salute.
Look at the list, and call your senator, congressman, local officials and if you live in Suffold County NY, you should be calling loical officials and asking why this is being allowed to happen. Make them enforce the visa rules and make these unemployed workers LEAVE.
