From Senator Charles Schumer...
While I share your support for enforcement measures, I believe that there are too many problems with the E-Verify system to support making it a mandatory and permanent program. Under the current system, any individual who steals a social security number and has access to a credible fake ID can get a job in the United States. Therefore, I support creating a biometric-based federal employment verification system that will give employers and employees have the peace of mind that all employment relationships are both lawful and proper. This would provide employers with a simple and reliable mechanism for verifying the legal status of their employees and will truly be effective in combating illegal immigration. I have supported and continue to support such biometric verification measures as integral elements of comprehensive immigration reform
To Which I replied....
While I agree E-Verify is not perfect. Your solution will come too late for 10 of thousand workers like myself, out of work computer programmers. I watch jobs go to illegal foreign workers, laid off from H1B jobs, now taking my job, and now I am about to lose my home.
So keep you biometric system, it is pure bullsh*t, you just are blocking enforcement because you hope to naturalize as many of these illegal’s as you can, figuring they will be the next major acquisition of the Democratic Party.
While US citizens get thrown under the bus, Thanks Chuck you been a real help (NOT)
